Still Alive and Kicking — Awake in the Awakening

ho'oponopono, law of attraction, vortex of creation, diabetesMy body is alive sixty one years today…well, most of it is.  A few weeks ago, I discovered–through the serendipity of following the guidance I received while in Abadiania, Brazil with John of God to get a full spectrum of lab tests when I got home (see: Final Day of Trip Six)–that my thyroid was dead.  That’s right.  Post-mortem.  Apparently, ever since the emergency surgery to repair the shattered vertebra in a horse riding accident in May, 2012, (see: Abadiania, Here I Come ) my body has done the best She could to function without a thyroid and the hormones it produces.  Masked by the variables of recovery from a shattered vertebra, four fractured ribs, and two ruptured discs…the symptoms went un-noticed.  Until I got the lab results and all of the dots came together in a crystal clear awareness that my body–without the support of a thyroid for almost two years–was starting to fail.

Why didn’t the entity just heal my thyroid?  That’s the natural question to ask, right?  It’s certainly the question I asked myself as I wondered, “Why make a direct connection with me to tell me to get to a doctor rather than just bring the thyroid back to life?”  I don’t know the answer.  I am called, once again, to trust the Will to Good to know–better than me–that reasoning. Leading Through Resonance–Creative Leadership

leadership, creative process, awakeningWe humans continually explore the concept of leadership–how to lead effectively, how to lead creatively, how to lead…period.  Parents call it parenting.  Managers call it managing.  Politicians call it governing.  Call it what you will, leadership runs through our culture and society like a necessary part of the infra-structure we call Life.

In our exploration of the leadership dynamic, we can look to nature as well.  The organization of ants and bees have clearly defined roles…who defines those roles?  That entity would, by definition, be the leader, right?  Dogs establish hierarchies determined by who is the alpha in the pack, and that clarity is demonstrated by behaviors that mark the alpha dog as “preferred” in all circumstance–a role many leaders in the human world also claim.  The interactions among horses is often about who is the leader right now…they jockey with body language for the coveted position of controlling the herd with a flick of their ears or a strategic placement of body.  With horses, the leader is the one who moves everyone else without moving themselves.  They lead from behind.

Whether we are leaders who forge ahead blazing a trail that others follow (because it’s easier than clearing a new trail, oftentimes) or whether we lead by strength of will and an inclination toward strong opinion, in every interaction there is a component of leading–or being led–in the relationship dynamic, I think.  All of us have our own leading–and being led–style, and the operative question is: how well is it working in creating the satisfaction and fulfillment we desire? Solstice Renewal–Awakening

awakening, evolutionFor many, this day goes by in a flurry of shopping lists and gift wrapping.  For many, this day means nothing more than a marker for a how many days are left before the more celebrated holiday of Christmas arrives.

For me, Solstice is the main event.

Please don’t misunderstand–I honor and respect the traditions of all religions.  I do my best to understand the underpinnings of their meanings and ceremonies.  I do my best to open myself to the gifts of all spiritual practices…  My heart, though, belongs to Solstice because–for me–I find the renewal of Spirit most evident in nature.

When I want to hear the whisper of wisdom from the Source of all life, I go into nature and listen.  Continue reading “Solstice Renewal–Awakening”

Insights–John of God

John of God, Dr Augusto, Casa de Dom Inacio, spiritual healingToday is the seventh day since the spiritual surgery I experienced last Wednesday.  It has been a profoundly deep week into the exploration of healing for me.  For the first time in all of the spiritual surgeries I’ve undergone, I felt “post-surgical.”  I was reminded of the days right after spinal surgery when my one goal was to be able to get up and walk the halls of the hospital.  I was not as weak this week as I was right after the spinal surgery, but I did ask Alan to wheel me in the wheel chair often, walking for very short periods then resting when I felt my vitality deflate.

During the daily crystal bed, Dr. Augusto came available for interaction. Continue reading “Insights–John of God”

Day Two, A Blessing Shared–John of God

soul awakening, spiritual consciousnessI underwent my first spiritual surgery of this  trip yesterday afternoon.  One would think (Well, at least I would) that I could expect a certain pattern to the spiritual surgeries after ten of them.  It wasn’t a surprise when the Casa volunteer invited people from the 2nd time line to volunteer for a spiritual surgery.  Certainly, we’ve seen that happen a few times before this.  Alan and I considered and decided that, since it was our first day back to see John of God after a year’s absence, we wanted to go before Medium Joao and the entity to received a more specific direction.  What was unusual for me was that–right after we opted to wait–I felt the presence of an entity touch my mind.

“What does that feel like?” you may wonder.  It feels like love.  Conscious and aware and gentle like a soft breeze.  Some say they can tell which entity is which and know who is engaging them.  Not me.  I don’t mind, though.  Love is love is love, right?

I felt the touch, and I heard, “Would you like my support?  I can help you.”

“Yes!” My response was immediate and whole-hearted.

And then it began.  In retrospect, my spiritual surgery experience started right there and then in the front hall/meeting room. Continue reading “Day Two, A Blessing Shared–John of God”

HERE! — John of God

John of God, meditation, spiritual healing We did it again–this time a full-on 24 journey through time and space and many emotional places in between to arrive at Casa de Dom Inacio.  We knew a lot had happened in our lives during the past year; we didn’t realize that life in Brazil was evolving as well.  The Brasilia airport is undergoing a huge expansion.  New billboards and shops and gas stations have sprouted all along the highway to Abadiania–not to mention the new Premium Outlet Mall with its own McDonalds 😛  There are many infra-structure projects, and I can say with certainty now that the dirt in central Brazil is red.  More activity in all the small towns along the highway as well with freshly painted storefronts and people walking along the sidewalks.

But all that is just the backdrop, of course. Continue reading “HERE! — John of God”

Transforming Loss–John of God

awakening, surrender, law of attractionThere is a commonly held belief among those who participate with John of God at Casa de Dom Inacio that the entities begin working with a person as soon as they make a commitment (like purchasing airfare) to experience the healing currents of the Casa.  Mostly, the reference is about the emergence of physical symptoms that might indicate a healing release.  In May of 2012, I experienced this phenomenon to the extreme when I was in the horse-riding accident two weeks before my scheduled visit (see: Abadiania, Here I Come)  Surely, that experience transformed my life and opened me into a whole new level of experience when I arrived in Abadiania.

I am sitting in the airport in transit to Abadiania right now, reflecting on the month’s events that prepare me for this visit.  I thought I’d covered this reflection in my previous post: Abadiania On the Horizon, but I was mistaken. Continue reading “Transforming Loss–John of God”

Abadiania on the Horizon – John of God

John of God, spiritual awakening
10 spiritual surgeries in two years–an exploration into the John of God experience

It’s been a year since our last pilgrimage to Abadiania, Brazil, to visit Medium Joao and the entities…and a very full year at that!  We moved across the United States, from central Florida to an island just off the Washington State coast.  My second book, Consumed by the Dragon–Recipes for Transformation, was published.  My beloved four-legged friend and companion through many lifetimes, Baby, passed through veil between life and death.

All of these events are part and parcel of Life.  Many would say they are, in metaphoric terms, the grist that keeps the mill of Life turning.  For me, though, they are significant outcomes for the personal transformation set in motion by my experiences in Abadiania with John of God.  For me, each of these events tracks back to a specific request made to the entities during our visits.  Continue reading “Abadiania on the Horizon – John of God”

Pondering Leadership – How Life Works

awakening, avatar, worship, leadershipI was offered a complimentary astrology reading recently.  I have a variety of feelings about astrology:  On the one hand, it makes sense to me that the configuration of planets at the moment of my emergence into physical form would somehow reflect a vibratory resonance to the nature of my own personality quirks.  On the other, I don’t understand how planetary formation can open the book into foretelling my future…or my past, for that matter.  In this regard, I give full trust only to my own sense of “truth” and “rightness” of any conjecture made by the passing of planets through my “orbit.” But, hey, a free reading…I’m willing to give my time for the possibility of an opening into new insights and deepening understandings.

So, I listened, and it was all very entertaining.  Who doesn’t love a block of time just about themselves?  I know, right?  Like finding out that I have, not only the same birthday as Edgar Cayce, but also the same rising sign and moon in the same sign as him.  I don’t really know what it means, but it’s pretty cool, right? There was one area, though–and that’s really what this article is about–that engaged my mind to a new level of reflection.  Continue reading “Pondering Leadership – How Life Works”

The Art of Fulfillment – A Principle of Awakening

dreams and wishes, awakeningA dream is a wish your heart makes.

Cinderella

Everyone I know has dreams and wishes their dreams would be fulfilled.  No exceptions in my experience.  Even followers of Buddha and other spiritual teachings that propose detachment is the definition of enlightenment have dreams – they wish for detachment from desire.  Desire is the driving force of Life.  The very breath all life takes is fueled by the desire to live.

I have a dream!

Martin Luther King

That’s as “meta” as it gets — almost. Let’s take it one step further:  What if all of us have a core dream — a desire so deeply embedded in the essence of who we are that it accompanies us from the nonphysical realm through birth and into physical reality?  What if the purpose of this life-long desire has a purpose — the purpose of awakening us from the dream that the physical world is all there is?
