A review by Andrea Daines (LOA_Student)I’m a student of Law of Attraction; therefore my interest is piqued whenever I see a new book that speaks of someone else’s experience with that Law. However, when I picked up Ahnalira Koan’s new book, Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confession of a Diabetic, I did so with trepidation.

As someone who was raised in a Christian Science household, I knew that I’d be seeing this book through the lens of someone who’s eschewed the medical world and all its trappings for decades. I wondered if I’d be able to get past all that “medical hoo-ha” in order to find “the good stuff”.

I decided to commit to reading up to the ‘page of my age’ and see if it still held my interest. If I had to give up on it by the time I reached page 47, I’d know that I’d at least have given this book a decent shot before tossing it onto the trash heap.

I’m glad I did.

By page 20, she had my interest, describing how she came to be who she was and how she attracted her manifestations. The technical talk about Diabetes had died off and I was led down the path less filled with “how I handle Diabetes” and more filled with “what I know about life”.

Koan’s experiences with life to death to life; with poverty to wealth; with illness to health; and how she was (and is) able to maintain an incredibly positive and constructive attitude about everything…well, that’s inspiring!
But the most fantastic revelation came around the middle of the book. I suddenly comprehended that it wasn’t Koan who was doing the speaking – it was me. Everything she was saying was something I realized I already knew about but couldn’t articulate fully. Like any good teacher, Koan merely put those feelings into words and lovingly reflected them back to me in a way that I could grasp.

For that gem alone (although there are MANY gems in this book), I highly recommend Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confession of a Diabetic. It is well worth the investment!
