John of God Trip 5 – Days 4 and 5

ArrivingAbadiania 026Hotel San Raphael seems to be the social hotspot during the holiday season…  when Frutti’s is closed.  Last night, there was a wedding party for the group that did their ceremony at the Casa Dom Inacio Thursday morning.  We had live music in the courtyard and lots joyful sounds.  Every meal, in fact, is raucous with laughter, and people come from all over town to eat at the only open “restaurant” available.

I’m not exactly sure how all these fun times fit into the idea of spiritual comtemplation, but nobody seems to concerned about it. Continue reading “John of God Trip 5 – Days 4 and 5”

John of God Trip 5 – Arrival and First Day

John of GodThunder is roiling through the sky…  Late December, and it’s summer in Abadiania, Brazil.  Time for the rainy season interspersed with bright sunshine.  Life is verdant green here right now.  We arrived December 25th, 2012 to a quiet town.  Most everything – except for The Casa and our pousada – is closed.  Still, there seem to be quite a few people here…  we watched several other groups arrive on our plane.

A moment here to establish context… Continue reading “John of God Trip 5 – Arrival and First Day”

Abadiania On The Horizon – John of God

Crystal Bed, John of God, Casa Dom InacioThe culmination of a long adventure is on the horizon. During my first visit to Casa Dom Inacio and John of God in February, 2011, I felt a strong sense that I would experience a series of five visits before the end of 2012 to complete the process I was beginning during that trip.  Now, it’s four trips later as the energies build for the final visit in this series at the end of December, 2012.

I look back over the last two years, and I stand in wonder at the all the ways my life changed.  Continue reading “Abadiania On The Horizon – John of God”

Awakening From The Dream… Which One?

awakening from the dreamIt’s confusing sometimes — this awakening process.  The term means…  what?  Which part of my life is asleep?  I know.  I’m one of the many who bandy the term like I know of what I speak.

And sometimes I do.  Sometimes, it’s clear to me that a fresh insight just opened my mind into an understanding that shifts the paradigm of my beliefs.  It happened when I went to visit John of God for the first time in February of 2011 (see John of God – The Process Continues); within months the insights I gleaned from the experience evoked life-altering changes.  Clearly, I “awakened” through the experience to patterns within myself that were functioning on “sleep-walking cycles”. I asked myself: Why was I drifting through choices and patterns of behavior that were unconscious?  Was there any kind of benefit other than avoiding change?  Continue reading “Awakening From The Dream… Which One?”

John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 10

John of God, spiritual healing, AbadianiaWe had a plan for our last day with John of God.  Revision line in the morning (Remember, this is the line for one week after spiritual surgery to see if any further intervention is required), and we intended to spend our last afternoon in the Current room meditating.  That was the plan — dependent upon the entity passing us through the revision line with no additional directions (other than, perhaps, sit in the Entity’s Current Room.)  And, even though that may be how the revision line goes 99% of the time…  Not this time for us.

I was told to do another Crystal Bath.  Alan started wheeling me out, thinking, “OK, ” when the entity, through John of God, pointed at him and said, “2 o’clock line.” (This means that the current entity embodying Medium Joao isn’t the expert to deal with Alan’s situation, and he needs to return for the next session and go before the afternoon’s entity.)

Alan’s surprise — again — touched my funny bone:  “You mean,” he asked me later, “I might have to get another surgery?!  …I’m funny now!  Really, I am.” Continue reading “John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 10”

John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, days 8 and 9

John of God, Abadiania, Casa Dom InacioThe Casa was overflowing yesterday morning…  easily two thousand people — many locals — come to make requests of John of God and the entities.  It is a certain type of spiritual practice to wait, I’ve decided, especially in very crowded rooms.  Again, my appreciation to the volunteers who are unendingly patient as they attempt to keep aisles clear and voices quiet.

When my time came to go before Medium Joao, he met my gaze and gently declared, “Operation.”

“Obrigada, ” I replied, and he nodded and smiled from his eyes. Continue reading “John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, days 8 and 9”

John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 7

John of God, spiritual awakeningThe breeze is crisp, and the moon is full.  People are arriving today as the Casa sessions with John of God begin tomorrow.  There is anticipation in the air.

We began our day with Crystal Baths.  For Alan, it was a gentle experience as he relaxed and floated and felt pressures periodically in his head and temples… opening further that already giant mind.  For me, again, the Crystal Bath was mildly uncomfortable — this time in my solar plexus and thymus center.  Afterward, my digestive tract felt very tender and sensitive, and I’ve eaten only fruit and juices for most of the day.  Clearing is part of the healing/awakening process.  I remind myself as I move slowly and softly through the day 😛  I am willing. John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 6

John of God, spiritual awakeningWednesday through Friday are the days at Casa Dom Inacio when John of God, or Medium Joao as he prefers to be called, is in residence to provide a vehicle for the entities to engage the many who come for healing and or spiritual awakening.  But that doesn’t mean “nothing happens” the rest of the week.  Indeed, the entities live beyond concepts of time and space – their involvement and assistance continues through any opening given… like dreams.

Last night, I experienced a kaleidoscopic array of dreams.  Interestingly, none of the dreams included me…it was more like I witnessed them from an observer’s perch.  Some of them were physically violent.  Some of them portrayed different eras – like living on a plantation as a slave during the days of slavery.  Some of them depicted families engaged in emotional dynamics.  Many of them were emotionally painful for the dream participants.  And I watched, wondering why these images/feelings were being shown to me. John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 5

Casa Dom Inacio, John of God, spiritual awakeningI slept through the night last night…first time since the accident on May 20th.  Sweet sleep!  To awaken gently to sounds of birds singing, body soft and relaxed – this is what “slept like a baby” must mean.  Thank you, John of God and the entities!

Today, is Sunday.  In Abadiania, that means a day of quiet and reflection as all of the businesses close and only the Casa is open its gates for contemplation and Sunday morning services.  For us, it means a gentle day of continued immersion in the weave of energies.

We made our way to the Casa to place prayers in the prayer basket and make a small video clip to share with everyone a “feel” for our Sunday.  Enjoy!

John of God – Abadiania Adventure, June 2012, days 3 and 4

John of God, spiritual healing, AbadianiaOur first spiritual surgery together – How romantic!  Well, mainly… just stretch your mind to imagine how sharing the healing energies for twenty four hours, in a small room — mainly in a trance-like state without talking — can promote that feeling of Oneness 😛

As spiritual surgeries go, this was a gentle experience. Continue reading “John of God – Abadiania Adventure, June 2012, days 3 and 4”
