The Art of Fulfillment – A Principle of Awakening

dreams and wishes, awakeningA dream is a wish your heart makes.

Cinderella

Everyone I know has dreams and wishes their dreams would be fulfilled.  No exceptions in my experience.  Even followers of Buddha and other spiritual teachings that propose detachment is the definition of enlightenment have dreams – they wish for detachment from desire.  Desire is the driving force of Life.  The very breath all life takes is fueled by the desire to live.

I have a dream!

Martin Luther King

That’s as “meta” as it gets — almost. Let’s take it one step further:  What if all of us have a core dream — a desire so deeply embedded in the essence of who we are that it accompanies us from the nonphysical realm through birth and into physical reality?  What if the purpose of this life-long desire has a purpose — the purpose of awakening us from the dream that the physical world is all there is? Vibrating the Vibration Into The Awakening Avatar

vibrate, vibration, avatar, awakeningWhen you look across a field to a stand of trees, do you see a shimmer in the air around their edges?  When you touch a living thing, do you feel a tingle in the space between where your ‘skins’ meet?  When you are listening to music, does the sound move through your body in a way that makes your body move?  This is the law of resonance in action. The law of resonance says that all vibration includes the  quality of evoking response.

But, wait…let’s go back.  Back to where it begins: vibrating.

If we start to consider what vibrates — and, therefore, has the capacity to evoke resonance — we would find the list infinitely huge.  It might be easier, rather, to ask: “What doesn’t vibrate?”  The answer is far more simple: nothing.  Everything vibrates. The Paradox of Trust – Awakening

awakening, transformation, individuationA recipe for transformation without trust as one of the ingredients is doomed in much the same way a recipe for fluffy pancakes without baking powder as an ingredient is bound for failure.  Baking powder is necessary for the chemical reaction that infuses the batter with fluffifying air bubbles.  In a similar manner, trust must be present for the alchemy of transformation to ignite.

If only trust were as easy to procure as a box of baking soda, right?  If only we understood the components of trust well enough to produce it at whim and infuse our experience with trust as easily as we mix baking powder into a batter – trust in the Will to Good, trust in our innate ability to listen inwardly and make effective decisions, trust in the desired outcomes we are not yet able to see in the world around us. Sharing Shame Away – Awakening

awakeningIt’s a residual grime – Shame.  Sticky and heavy like a combination of quicksand and tar, laying like a film over our memories and experiences.  I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about, though I have come across many who pretend they bear no burden of shame.

And I know they do.  We all do.  Every one of us — at some point — knows the experience of feeling bad about something we’ve done or some aspect of how we look or who we are.  It may be a slight embarrassment about a pimple or a regret for having spoken harshly in a moment of distress.  It could be a habit or an inability to follow through on intentions or goals.  No matter how small or insignificant in the moment, it is shame… and it accumulates in the psyche. The Awakening Mystery – What’s Going On?

awakening, evolutionThe end came and went… a few times I think… the “big” one, though, was almost three months ago.  The new beginning?  How can we tell when it started?

Almost a season has turned.  I observe social media and read the blogs and watch the video clips sharing the variety of perceptions of what happened/is happening.  Some people expected or hoped for a transformation on December 22nd, 2012 that would rock the socks off of current norms and cultures, evoking a mass awakening of spiritual consciousness.  Some felt deflated when it seemed as though nothing really changed.  Some foretold of a transition that would take time and impact our lives in unique and unexpected ways.  Some called it just another New Age or religious hoax.

For me, it has been an internal experience. Continue reading “The Awakening Mystery – What’s Going On?”

This Awakening Project… This Little Light of Mine

awakening, meditation, lightTulsa, Oklahoma is where I was born and raised, and — back in those days — every summer brought evangelical tent Revivals to town.  My parents were not only ‘not religious’ people, they were non religious Jewish people.  They were also open-minded liberals, though, so if I wanted to go with neighbors to the Revivals, they let me.  And I did.  I didn’t understand the premise of sermons or much of what was said, but  I loved the passionate singing and dancing and bursts of “Hallelujahs!” (though I shouted ‘hallelulu’ :P)  My two favorite songs from those days are still two of my favorite songs:  This Little Light of Mine, I’m Going To Let It Shine and Amazing Grace (I once was lost and now am found.  Was bound and now am free.)

Back then, while I loved singing the songs, I didn’t understand the meaning of those lyrics.  Not like I do, today.  First, I had to live through some “lost” times.  I had to experience my light “hidden” and feel my way through darkness. Qualities of an Awakened Mind – Awakening

meditation, awakening, ho'oponoponoWhat is the background “music” your mind plays?  Have you ever noticed the commentary?  Even more importantly, can you set consciously a mantra for the mind to repeat?  These are questions for the awakening Being to ponder.

Because, it’s true — whether you realize it or not — the mind continually chats.  And the topics upon which the mind dwells can be quite illuminating in terms of where our psyche tends to focus and what our beliefs are.  Indeed, once we know the pattern of the chatter, we are well on the way to understanding the seemingly “unconscious” choices we make… which is only a few steps short of expanded consciousness.

See how that is? Continue reading “Qualities of an Awakened Mind – Awakening”

Nothing Is Different And Everything Is Changed – Awakening

awakening, meditation“Nothing is different, and everything is changed.”  It’s a line from A Paul Simon song.  And every time I hear it, the thought resonates through me like Truth.

The anticipation for BIG changes that will alter the course of civilization runs high these days.  As I read the articles — both scientific and metaphysical — about the state of flux our world and environment is on the brink of experiencing, I wonder if we might be missing subtleties of what awakening is.

I recall the year 1999.  Wayyyyy back then, it was the 2K electronic failure that surged in the news as the event that would bring our world into a new order as we grappled with the loss of a computer-run systems.  Remember that?  And then…nothing happened.  Life went on with a chagrined chuckle. John of God – Abadiania Adventure June 2012, day 7

John of God, spiritual awakeningThe breeze is crisp, and the moon is full.  People are arriving today as the Casa sessions with John of God begin tomorrow.  There is anticipation in the air.

We began our day with Crystal Baths.  For Alan, it was a gentle experience as he relaxed and floated and felt pressures periodically in his head and temples… opening further that already giant mind.  For me, again, the Crystal Bath was mildly uncomfortable — this time in my solar plexus and thymus center.  Afterward, my digestive tract felt very tender and sensitive, and I’ve eaten only fruit and juices for most of the day.  Clearing is part of the healing/awakening process.  I remind myself as I move slowly and softly through the day 😛  I am willing.
