“When I died,” Ahnalira Koan begins…a head-on automobile accident and a near-death experience that resulted in the onset of type 1 diabetes, her life took a turn she didn’t expect. Amid the struggles to assimilate her health changes, she found herself on a journey of awakening. Transforming her personal tragedy into opportunity, Ahnalira learned how to embrace her fear of the “dragon within” and make it into, not only a friend, but a teacher as well. All of us are evolving, and the more consciousness we can bring to the process, the more we can expand, explains Koan in her groundbreaking new book, BEYOND The Law of Attraction to Align Within…Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confessions of a Diabetic
Filled with techniques and tips to help readers navigate any challenges that come their way, Care and Feeding of Dragons shows that all the answers needed are within reach. Using her background in Jungian psychology, Law of Attraction and personal experience, Koan guides readers on a playful and engaging journey to becoming the best version of themselves possible. Ask for what you want. Learn to align all the parts of yourself – including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual – and you can live a fulfilling life.
Beautifully written and filled with wit and warmth, Care and Feeding of Dragons shows you the deeper meaning behind the Law of Attraction. Deal with personality patterns that are not serving you. Figure out the patterns that are calling to “be made right”—and learn to care for, tend and listen to your dragons instead of fighting them.
Whether you’re diabetic or you’re dealing with relationship or financial problems… or you are on a spiritual quest to awaken Consciousness, Care and Feeding of Dragons can jumpstart a new way of thinking to awaken greater possibilities. Life will always guide us to be the best we can be if we are willing to embrace the journey. Beautifully written and playfully presented, Care and Feeding of Dragons offers a guide to empowering yourself and realizing your full potential.
How can you live more successfully and continue to evolve? Ahnalira Koan was a street kid who went on to become a Jungian psychotherapist and meditation teacher. All of us are evolving, and the more consciousness we can bring to the process, the more we can expand, explains Koan. Using her personal journey with type 1 diabetes and the years she spent as a streetkid, she shows how she made peace with the “dragon within” by tending and loving and listening to it, transforming it into a friend and teacher that helps her figure out how to successfully engage any obstacle in her life.
Koan presents the Law of Attraction with a twist. She focuses on the personality patterns that may not be serving you and shows how and why you should deal with them. If you don’t, she explains, they’ll only get bigger. Learn to discover the patterns within you and “make them right,” she advises. By responding with integrity and authenticity, you can shape your life the way you want it to be. Meditation, she suggests, can help you clarify what it is you really need.
Life will always guide us to be the best we can be if we are willing to embrace the journey. Care and Feeding of Dragons offers a guide to empowering yourself and realizing your full potential.
A review by Andrea Daines (LOA_Student)I’m a student of Law of Attraction; therefore my interest is piqued whenever I see a new book that speaks of someone else’s experience with that Law. However, when I picked up Ahnalira Koan’s new book, Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confession of a Diabetic, I did so with trepidation.
As someone who was raised in a Christian Science household, I knew that I’d be seeing this book through the lens of someone who’s eschewed the medical world and all its trappings for decades. I wondered if I’d be able to get past all that “medical hoo-ha” in order to find “the good stuff”.
I decided to commit to reading up to the ‘page of my age’ and see if it still held my interest. If I had to give up on it by the time I reached page 47, I’d know that I’d at least have given this book a decent shot before tossing it onto the trash heap.
I’m glad I did.
By page 20, she had my interest, describing how she came to be who she was and how she attracted her manifestations. The technical talk about Diabetes had died off and I was led down the path less filled with “how I handle Diabetes” and more filled with “what I know about life”.
Koan’s experiences with life to death to life; with poverty to wealth; with illness to health; and how she was (and is) able to maintain an incredibly positive and constructive attitude about everything…well, that’s inspiring!
But the most fantastic revelation came around the middle of the book. I suddenly comprehended that it wasn’t Koan who was doing the speaking – it was me. Everything she was saying was something I realized I already knew about but couldn’t articulate fully. Like any good teacher, Koan merely put those feelings into words and lovingly reflected them back to me in a way that I could grasp.
For that gem alone (although there are MANY gems in this book), I highly recommend Care and Feeding of Dragons: Confession of a Diabetic. It is well worth the investment!
